Windfarm Off Supply Issue
Our customer reported his windfarm was off supply and could we attend to confirm and re-instate supplie.
Whiterig windfarm near Edinburgh was off supply. We deployed one of our SAPs immediately, from our base in Swansea, our SAP arrived on site to discover a dead substation, on further investigation is was discovered the incoming supply from SPEN was the culprit.
A short time later the SPEN SAP arrived and tried to reclose the network, this failed and a cable fault was the likely reason for the off supply. It took SPEN five days to find the fault and agree with the local golf course that they could dig up their fairway near the 8th green, quite a tough negotiation by all accounts.
Fast forward 48 hours and the windfarm was energised after some late night jointing to avoid the golfers. Our SAP was on hand to ensure everything went smoothly and to work with SPEN to re instate supplies on the customer network.
This is a good result all round.
