The above services are supported by our highly technically qualified and trained staff, which include Senior authorised
Engineers, teams of electrical fitters, technicians, and cable jointers. All employees are trained in line with the
DNOs training standards for low-voltage and high-voltage systems up to and including 33 kV.
On-Line Earth Testing
An accurate reading of resistance can be measured without disconnecting any connections. This test measures

Thermographic Heat Measurement
Electrical connections can be tested with the use of a thermographic scanner. High-resistance joints give off
heat, which can be found before they burn out and fail, saving time and the cost of repair.
Service Agreements
As well as providing ONE-OFF high-voltage Voltage supplies, Swalek can provide your business with a comprehensive
maintenance agreement to provide total coverage for your electrical network. We provide two levels of service
agreement, which can typically run over a period of 3 to 5 years.
High-Voltage Maintenance Agreements
Option 1:
• Six monthly inspections of all plants and substations. Checking fully all of your electrical equipment and
substations covered in the agreement.
• Annual non-intrusive diagnostic testing of plants. This includes a thermographic survey and earth mat testing.
This helps identify problems before they turn into major faults. This service is offered without the
need to disrupt the electrical supply.
• On-site DGA (dissolved gas analysis) and oil tests for transformers and switchgear. For an additional
cost, we can offer a more in-depth
analysis at a UKAS-standard laboratory countrywide.
• Partial discharge testing.
• All equipment details and circuit diagrams are provided by Swalek High Voltage Services.
• Full written reports on all work carried out.
• Emergency call-outs. (chargeable at our standard rates).
• Notification of any defects issued affecting your plant.
• A free technical help line for any high-voltage equipment problems.
Option 2:
• Six monthly inspections of all plant and substations
• Maintenance of all equipment every four years.
• Protection relays were tested during equipment maintenance.
• Annual non-intrusive diagnostic testing of plants. This includes thermographic earth mat testing
and oil level checks. This helps identify problems before they turn into major faults. This service
is offered without the need to disrupt the electrical supply at additional cost.
• More in-depth oil analysis on transformers and on-site oil tests of all switchgear.
• All equipment details and circuit diagrams are provided by Swalek High Voltage Services.
Full written reports on all work carried out.
• Emergency call-outs.
• A free power factor survey.
• Notification of any defects issued affecting your plant.
• Access to 24-hour generator cover at reduced rates.
• All high-voltage switching is carried out by Swalek High Voltage Services Senior Authorised Engineers.
