Site Case Study
Installation Overview
A Crane was organised to position transformer components and associated Pipework,
Access Solutions
A MEWP (Mobile Elevating Work Platform) was deployed with IPAF – Certified operators to Safely access elevated section of the transformer.
Sealing & Preparation
Transformer was purged with nitrogen to eliminate moisture and prevent condensation. Leak checks were performed prior to oil filling. A Vacuum was established and Verified to ensure internal dryness and integrity

Commissioning
Once the oil was sealed and vacuum tested , transformer oil was pumped in under controlled conditions.
Testing
Swalek engineers conducted full commissioning tests, including insulation resistance, winding checks and functional validations
The Following Tests were Carried out:
- SFRA (Sweep Frequency Response Analysis
- Windings turn ratio on all taps with magnetising currents
- Vector group check
- Windings DC Resistance on all taps
- Demagnetisation of the core,
- Testing of the current Transformers.
- C&PF Testing of the winding and the bushings
- DFR ( Dielectric Frequency Response Analysis)
- Insulation Resistance of Windings and Core/ Frame to earth
- Temperture calibration of the OTI/WTI with cooling system checks
- Tap changer operational checks
- Panel Checks / Highlighting of the Drawings
- Preparation of the SCT15 report and document handover
