We then carried out a fault location to retrieve a distance measurement. Finally, we introduced the thumper mode to pinpoint the fault in the vicinity of the measurement retrieved. Once located, the excavation team exposed the area and uncovered a cable joint close to the service under railway sleepers. The customer is now making arrangements with the railway agency to excavate further to carry out repairs to this circuit and restore supplies.
Megger STX cable fault
Swalek was tasked by one of our valuable customers to identify and pinpoint a cable fault that occurred on a site transformer feeder. Swalek enlisted the Megger STX cable fault location equipment to carry out pre-fault location tests to ascertain the damage
